Lighting
We are planning to install the following lights in our SportCruiser:
Anti Collision Lights
Anti Collision Lights have to be visible from all horizontal (360o)
and high vertical angles (+/- 75o). They have to flash 40 – 100
times per minute and have to be white or red. They can be mounted on the
wing tips, on the fuselage top and bottom, or anywhere else where
visibility through the required angles is ensured.
Position Lights
Position lights have to be visible from all horizontal (360o)
and vertical angles (+/- 90o). They are red, green and
white, with only one of the colours visible depending on the horizontal
angle. The arrangement is the same as on ships, with red on the left
side, green on the right side and white on the tail. They have to be
mounted on the extremities of the plane (wing tips and tail).

Examples:

Examples from the Zodiac CH601XL of Martin Pohl (http://www.pohltec.ch/zodiacxl)
and the RV-7A of Alex and Bernie (http://www.flyvans.com).
Landing Lights
Landing lights are comparable to the headlights of a car (high beam).
They are of a narrow angle and white. They can be mounted anywhere on
the plane (wings, cowling, landing gear legs etc.).
Example:

Example from the Breezer of Andreas Portner (http://www.portner.ch/breezer)
Taxi Lights
Taxi lights are comparable to the headlights of a car (low beam).
They are of a wider horizontal angle than the landing lights and white
too. They can be mounted anywhere (wings,
cowling, landing gear legs etc.).
